Spyker Pursuing Saab Purchase

With the pullout of Koenigsegg Group from the purchase of Saab, a couple of new suitors have stepped forward. One of those is the Dutch exotic car maker Spkyer, who confirmed last week that the small company was negotiating with General Motors for the opportunity to become Saab's new owner.
In an interview with TheAutoChannel.com, Spyker Automobiles CEO Victor Muller said he had great admiration for the Saab brand. "It is a good company, with good and honest people, and most important the new 9-5 is a gorgeous car."
When asked about the synergy between the Dutch and the Swedes, he stated that, "We are northern Europeans and we have the same characters, life styles and feelings. There definitely is a match between the Dutch and Scandinavian people."
We'll see how this round of negotiations goes. The clock is definitely ticking for General Motors, who hoped to have Saab off its books by the end of this year.
